Introducing: Post Louis

Having recently released 30m Pool, five-piece Post Louis showcase their unique genre of summery guitar rock sharpened by the wintry chill of leadsinger Stephanie Davin's ethereal vocals. The band are currently in the pre-production stage of their forthcoming debut LP, preparing in the Norwegian church in London, and will be playing at The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington on 12th September.

Introducing: Tremorheart

WHITE TAPE cover art

Genre: electro-pop
For fans of: Twin Shadow

Tremorheart first came to NotAnotherRainySunday's attention at a BBC Oxford Introducing evening at Oxford's Cellar back in January. The band formed in 2014, but that night was the first time they had performed together in front of an audience, after a year of writing and recording material. Despite it being their first appearance, the harmonies were tight and the set as a whole was impressive and at a level some bands can only aspire to reach. The 80s influences on their music are clear, but Tremorheart provide a modern twist creating a fresh and exciting sound. The band have already released a cassette with tracks, 'Don't Talk About Paula', 'Be Still' and 'There's Nothing More', which can be ordered here. You can listen to 'Don't Talk About Paula' below.

Introducing: Jordan O'Shea

Desperation, My Dear cover art
Perfect Sunday evening listening comes in the form of Oxford's Jordan O'Shea who describes his music as 'music you can escape to'. Gentle and understated, his debut album, Desperation, My Dear, is a wonderful mix of acoustic guitar and melancholic melodies, whilst simple piano riffs anchor each song. The album as a whole is beautifully haunting, almost reminiscent of Bon Iver with breathy vocals and a tender, soothing quality. If you're in a dreamy mood, have a listen on his bandcamp.

Introducing: Port Isla

Port Isla - there's something about the romantically dreamy name and maritime connotations which instantly gives away a clue to what their music sounds like. Reminiscent of Fleet Foxes, the soulful vocals and punchy drumbeats provide the perfect injection of summer into their richly layered songs - guitars and pianos weave in and out of each other creating a sublime ocean of sound. If you're looking for a song to soundtrack a lazy summer's day spent in the garden, Sinking Ship could just be the answer.

Introducing: Half Moon Run

With their debut album, Dark Eyes, receiving widespread praise in Canada last year, Half Moon Run have now announced it will be released in Britain on 1st July. Having been compared to both Mumford and Sons and Radiohead, it's fair to say  their music occupies a number of different genres - jangling basslines are juxtaposed with three part harmonies creating a beautiful raw sound that's wonderfully earnest and refreshing. Half Moon Run are currently touring in the US and will be playing at various British festivals throughout the summer.

Introducing: The Scholars

Oxford band, The Scholars, have recently released the video for their new single, Spooks. Formed in 2008, the band have gained a following locally and nationally for their alt-rock sounds, having been championed by BBC Oxford Introducing, as well as receiving airtime on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, and it's no surprise why. New single, Spooks, is a song of great contrasts. It opens with a stunning simplicity as frontman, Adrian Banks, sings with a sombreness that is beautifully juxtaposed with the rich layers of guitar and vocals that follow. Spooks is free to download from The Scholars' bandcamp page.
