15 year old Sarah Lees is the next big thing to hit the London music scene. Having only started to write songs about 6 months ago, the Londoner has already recorded her first song professionally, and exceeded the 1000 profile views mark on her myspace. Sarah started writing songs for a project in music in May and has been writing songs ever since, although it took quite a bit of persuasion for her to realise that she was actually good at singing. However, always the humble, Sarah prefers to go under the alias, Laila, on myspace, in a bid that no one would actually be able to find her - no such luck! Since, recording her first song, she has been described by a top record producer as having an 'amazing voice', and I only hope that things carry on as well as they are now.
So what is it about this girl that makes her so different to other rising songwriters out there? The answer is simple - no frills: just good singing, uncliched lyrics, and simple melodies.
